Industeel Belgium is a subsidiary of the ArcelorMittal group, based in Charleroi, Belgium. As a core part of the Industeel family, Industeel Belgium produces special high quality steels in both slabs and plates, in stainless, carbon and low alloy steel grades. All steel production comes from melting steel scrap in an electric arc furnace, providing a lower carbon footprint alternative to products that are traditionally produced through the carbon-intensive blast furnace steelmaking route. The wide range of steel grades along with the exceptional dimensional capability of the Industeel Belgium site, places Industeel Belgium at the heart of mission-critical market applications, such as process pipes for the oil and gas industry, storage tanks and pressure vessels for LNG export terminals, critical components for the nuclear power industry, armor plate for civil defence appplications, high strength and wear-resistant steels for yellow and green goods, and increasingly, steels plates for the global energy transition. Industeel Belgium supplies steel plates all across Europe, but is also the leading European exporter of stainless steels to North America, and also exports all over the world. Industeel Belgium employs around 900 staff and produces around 200kt of steel per year
