Organisations by alphabetical order

The mission of the Fund for Scientific Research – FNRS is to develop fundamental scientific research by funding initiatives submitted by researchers. It fosters the production and the development of knowledge by supporting, on the one hand, individual researchers and by financing, on the other hand, research programmes conducted within laboratories mainly located in the universities of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. Based on scientific excellence, the financial support of the F.R.S.-FNRS takes several forms:

• Temporary or permanent remuneration of individual researchers,
• Financing of research teams,
• Participation in international networks and programmes,
• Allocation of grants and credits for scientific exchanges,
• Awarding of scientific prizes.

The F.R.S.-FNRS is also in charge of promoting European research and innovation programmes involving the Wallonia-Brussels Federation towards its researchers, and of accompanying researchers willing to participate in these programmes.
