Ghent University, founded in 1817, is a top 100 university and one of Belgium’s largest universities, with almost 51,000 students and 16,000 staff members. Our university has a strong international orientation and was the first European university to establish a campus in South Korea. ‘Dare to Think’, our credo, reflects a commitment to critical thinking and an open, nuanced approach to academic debate.

In addition to its historic campuses in Ghent -increasingly recognised as one of Europe’s main and fast-growing tech hubs- the university also has campuses in Kortrijk and Ostend. These locations strengthen our connections with regional partners and innovation ecosystems.
